Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
These are the perfect answer to using a dedicated flash unit off of the camera and yet retain all of the dedicated features of the flash. These heavy duty TTL cords are designed to fit Canon cameras that use dedicated flash units. They feature a molded shoe on one end that slides onto the camera hot show and locks to prevent accidental dislodging of the shoe. A second shoe mounts onto a flash bracket or light stand via either a standard foot with lock or a 1/4-20 thread. The top of the shoe accepts the flash unit. A heavy duty 3 foot coiled cord connects the shoes.

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars excellent alternative to canon cord   November 25, 2008
I bought this to go with the Stroboframe quick flip 350 and it works great. It never misfires and is about half the price of the canon cord. I use it with my 40d and 430ex and I have no problems whatsoever. If you're in the market for an off camera cord, buy this one. Normally I would never say this but in this case, skip the canon model, its twice the cost with no advantages.

1 out of 5 stars Save time and aggravation   July 7, 2008
I got this cord with a bracket. The bracket was great. The cord failed after 1 time out shooting. Cable pulled partially out and shorted. I actually think it was responsible for causing my memory card to fail and had to be re-formatted. Buy the Canon cord.
Fortunately Adorama took it back and gave me a refund.

1 out of 5 stars Unreliable   July 5, 2008

Purchased the cord based on reviews of this versus the Canon one. Major mistake, on the second use it is intermittent, may or may not recognize the camera, may or may not run in E-TTL mode. Poor contact action, extremely difficult to get off the camera hot shoe. Almost impossible to get my 580 EXII to lock on, if I do lock the flash onto the shoe it won't fire. Overall don't waste your money, unless you can afford missed shots.

5 out of 5 stars Perfect compliment to camera, flash   May 20, 2008
Been using this for about a month with my Rebel XTI and 430EX flash. No problems with connections or functionality. Eliminates red eye and creates great 3D shadow effects on portraits.

Using a monopod to hold flash recommended as coiled cord is hard to stretch. To hold the flash tight, fingers wander in front of flash sensor. I guess that's the trade off for heavy duty cord. Should last a long time.

5 out of 5 stars Very good   April 20, 2008
If fitted perfectly on my Canon S5 camera and my Metz 48AF-1 flash, and the TTL worked fine. It's easy to install/remove. To be better, should be longer, anyway it's helps a lot anyway!
