I went to camera store after camera store trying to find this little piece for my tripod. Finally, I got it here on Amazon. The tripod portability is great because it is small and lightweight. However, this piece is easily lost - so be careful. It screws into the bottom of your camera easily and slides into the tripod without any fumbling. I have not had any problem with it cracking or breaking. I use it with my Nikon D40 and a Nikon CoolPix. I give it 4 stars because it's easily lost, but works well.

I love my Bogen/Manfrotto 785B tripod Bogen / Manfrotto 785 Modo Maxi Photo Video Grip Head Tripod so I bought two more quick-release plates (the tripod comes with one) for my husband's camera and for my "purse camera". I received my order quickly and would not hesitate to order from the seller again.
