Product Description Designed by Wood's Powr-Grip for people "on the go", the Cleat can be used to mount cameras, video cameras, scopes, microphones, radar detectors, lights, antennas, GPS units, agricultural monitoring equipment and any equipment that mounts on a 1/4-20 threaded stud. Easily movable from place to place, the Cleat attaches on automobiles, RV's, boats, tractors, windows, counter tops...anything with a smooth, nonporous surface. Two knobs on the head provide infinite positioning and control for tilting and panning.A hand-actuated pump removes air from under the vacuum pad to create a solid, reliable hold. A few strokes on the pump's plunger attach the Cleat to the surface where desired. A red-line indicator warns the user of any loss in vacuum holding power. When properly attached, the plunger stays in and the red line is not visible. If the red line appears during use, another stroke or two restores full holding power. The Cleat is released by lifting the tab near the edge of the vacuum pad.

Versatile, Inexpensive, Very Good Quality December 17, 2008 I bought this product specifically for making youth hockey videos. It is a great foundation for that purpose, but when everything is tightened down, the camera mount won't swivel. It is designed for mounting a camera in a fixed position, which it is very well-designed for. To add the needed pan/tilt required for sports video, I've added a Bogen-Manfrotto 3229 Swivel Tilt Monopod Head ($34.90 from Adorama). This head also adds a quick-release feature to your setup. It's now the perfect combo for hockey video. Just use the built-in pump to stick it to the glass and go. Now those long-distance zooms to catch plays at the opposite end of the ice aren't so shaky. This is a VERY stable unit when fully tightened down. Highly recommended, especially for the great price.
Excellent! October 29, 2007 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I am a pilot and I use this mount to make cockpit videos and even with tough landings, it holds the camera very still. Very easy to use and very useful if you need steady footage.
