Love the lamp, but not made in the U.S.October 29, 2008 This is a gorgeous lamp. It took FOREVER to unwrap the square box. But the glass part and the shade came out beautifully. Sections of the lamp screw together, but it all looks extremely nice and fits well with my parents' antiques. There were also able to fit a compact fluorescent bulb in the lamp. Beautiful!
I only bring up the U.S. part because we searched and searched for a lamp to give my father ... but I wanted a "made in the U.S.A." lamp. We spent more to get the U.S.-made lamp. I kept passing by the "imported" or "made in China" lamps.
My sister laughed and laughed when the boxed arrived with big bold letters of "Made in China."
While I don't see the U.S. claim here on Amazon right now, it was all over the place on all of the sites I checked (and I thought it was here, too).
So don't buy it for that reason. But it is a nice lamp that we are all very happy with.
