Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
The traveling birder's secret. You"ll see these mounts holding spotting scopes on car windows from Puget Sound to the Everglades. Compact tripod that's easily taken along anywhere and converts to a car window mount. Maxximum height: 8"

3 out of 5 stars so-so   September 19, 2008
This tri-pod is ok. Not great and not bad. If you use a semi-heavy camera on it, it's hard to balance your camera/camcorder on it.

2 out of 5 stars Cheaply made   July 17, 2008
This product is very flimsy. It feels like it will break if you use it.

2 out of 5 stars Maybe ok for a camera but useless for my spotting scope   June 8, 2008

I had hoped to keep my birding scope at the ready on the deck table but for me this is totally inadequate.
Note that it uses the window clamp to attach the scope to the tripod but the tiny clamp doesn't have the strength to grip the tripod tab and the knob slips on the screw if you try to make it sufficiently tight. It might be ok for a small camera, but telescopes need a wider base of support with no play in the moving parts; otherwise your image jumps all about. Do you realize the shortest leg is only 4 inches? Unfortunately-for my use-I made a mistake of buying a toy for a serious need.

5 out of 5 stars Quick, solid, sturdy and handy   May 4, 2008

I video and photo Eagles, Deer, etc., summer and winter. Many times I'll be driving along a back road and "there it/they are"! I drive with this tripod open and ready beside me, able to mount this on the half open window at any given moment and get that "great" shot. Enough said. It does everything I bought it for. Just remember to shut the car off when shooting or the car's vibration will be in the picture or videos.

You can't beat this for the price but I prefer my manfrotto mini 3007 kit for its flexibility
