Clean mechanism, good peripheral view, nice luminence September 2, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this product because it was the screen that best fit my wall. I have a 2000 Lumen LCD projector that I use, mostly, for entertaining. I used to project on a white wall, and that worked well, but this screen increases the luminescence so that I can play a film even when there is quite a bit more ambient light in the room. It also improves viewing quality when one is watching from an angle, rather than straight-on.
It is a good product at a good price. I have had no problems with the recoiling mechanism and the entire product is quite durable. I decided not to purchase a screen with an electric recoiling mechanism, because I figured that, eventually, the mechanism would break and then the screen would be fairly useless. The standard, manual recoil is easy enough.
The only annoyance, and it is quite minor (and fairly unavoidable) is that when one uses the recoil mechanism, the metal bar at the bottom of the screen (that keeps it straight) collides with the chamber that holds the rolled-up screen and it can make a clanging noise. I found that this could be mostly fixed by putting a rubber ring around both the right and left ends of the metal bar at the bottom of the screen. It is not really necessary, but it helps. Before that, I just held onto it while it coiled, so that it would not strike the chamber too hard.
All in all, it is a wonderful product.
If you are planning on buying a screen, I recommend keeping one important factor in mind, do not think so much of whether you want to show wide-screen or full-screen format. Rather, measure the dimensions of the wall where you will be mounting the screen and buy the model that best matches the dimensions of the wall.
