5 out of 5 stars good price for hard to find item   June 13, 2008
No local stores have smart media cards available and I was somewhat leery of purchasing one online, but the product was exactly what I expected and came in a timely manner at a reasonable price. I have since purchased a gps unit from Amazon for my wife and was extremely pleased with that purchase also.

5 out of 5 stars Smart Media memory card   August 24, 2007

Now bypassed by more popular flash memory cards, the Smart Media (SM) card is still used in older electronic data devices, particularly digital cameras. My Olympus point-and-shoot cameras still work, are still used, and I like to have an extra SM card for each. It's like having a spare roll of film.

While on a long trip, or making a photo document, the extra card is insurance against running out of memory. The same card can also be used to store documents from Word or Word Perfect, E-mails, etc, via a card-reader attached (USB, for example) to a computer.

Once the information on the card is transferred to a computwer's hard disk, the card can be formatted and is then ready to store more/different information. I like and use flash memory cards a lot for photos and short documents.
